ARTIST STATEMENT

iLatex Series 2005-2007

This body of work is being produced to inspire women everywhere to stand up and be seen equal to men in society. My body is fully painted in a studio setting with liquid latex to create each character. Only a few props are real objects. Three 20X30” digital photographs, of each character accompany their relating videos. Superman measures 43X53”. I use my body to make humorous and political statements in order to break through doors that seem to limit women’s ambitions. My body was painted by the talented Carola Dreidemie.
