ARTIST STATEMENT

The Housing Project - Miami

I continue to document these homes because they are on the verge of extinction due to ever increasing land value around the Miami area. People are being forced out of their neighborhoods as the surrounding downtown area is being expanded by mansions and high-rise condos for the rich. As the project develops and grows, the series itself is being broken down into sub-categories. The images will be placed in large grids or diptychs and made into a large book. The images are at least 13X19” with some even larger to 40X60”. I see the series complete when about 150 images have been collected. These photographs were taken in my neighborhood of Miami. Books are for sale.
