ARTIST STATEMENT


Nothing Special  2008


This body of work is a video installation piece consisting of a TV, VCR, Remote, Table, Vanity unit and makeup products painted in gold and covered in over 40,000 acrylic rhinestones ranging in size from 3mm to 12mm.  The TV plays a video loop of rhinestones sparkling while the mirror in the vanity unit reflects back at the TV screen.  The project was inspired while living in Miami and being surrounded by a superficial society.
